Issue Date: 22-Aug-2008
Series/Report no.: created 2007
Abstract: This assignment is to provide students the opportunity to explore career options in computing by interacting with practitioners in the community or online.  Students will get practice in written and oral communication, including sharing their lessons learned with peers.
Description: This is is an assignment where the sharing of the work done will take about a 50 minute period.  Encourage the students to think about what they want to ask.  This can be done at the beginning or end of the course.  This assignment was helpful as a means of enabling students to think about how computing and related skills are applied in the real world to solve a variety of problems. It can also be fun to have a map of the world and each student 'marks' where their person is located.
